Don't expect any customer service or value

I walked in with 3 grandchildren and patiently waited for someone to help us. We picked out pottery pieces while waiting and sat down, still no acknowledgement that we were there. A woman walked in with a daughter and an employee walked right up to her and asked if she needed help. I had to interrupt and say that we had been waiting for 10 minutes. She said they were short staffed but she had been in the room the whole 10 minutes ignoring us. And 2 other employees wandered in and out.
Once we were shown the glazes and picked them, we were on our own. No one checked in with us to see how we were doing at any time.
When we were done, no one seemed interested in checking us out. We asked someone to and that person said the pieces would be ready in 3 weeks, but the sign said 1 week for pottery pieces which was correct. ????
No one offered us a rewards card to be punched for a visit. $56 on 3 very small pottery pieces.
Will not be back.

One time wheel throwing and glass fusion

Family

My daughter (13 year old) and I came here from Macomb especially for the one time wheel throwing experience. I couldn't find anywhere else closer to do that without committing to a multi week class. This was exactly what we were looking for. Matt ran our class and he was fantastic. Patient and helpful with steps and process and in ensuring we both would have a bowl in the end. From calling for additional info, to reserving time for the wheel throwing on line straight thru to checking out at the end, this was a great experience. The employees were customer focused, helpful and friendly .. making art accessible for the non-artist exploring.

We came an hour before our scheduled pottery throwing and did a glass fusion project, which was perfect timing. Our pottery throwing lesson and painting took another hour, and it never felt rushed.

I observed a young lady employee running a large group of girls for wax hands -= she was engaging with the girls, keeping them focused while maintaining a fun atmosphere! Impressive!

Store is bright and well organized, lots of activities to choose from. I'm looking forward to going back to pick up the pieces to see how they turned out.

The place was easy to find. Center street parking garage is two minute walk from location. Lots of food options within two to five minute walk (we ended up eating at Brueggers Bagels a couple blocks away after our lesson then stopping at Astoria Pastry before heading home .. but lots of other neat options very close by).

The kids had fun

Family

The kids wanted to paint pottery & the one studio we go to is closed on Wednesday’s. We found this place & decided to go. Royal Oak parking is a pain, so that wasn’t fun. The studio was big and had a lot of pottery to choose from and it was reasonably priced. The thing I didn’t care for was the sitting fee they charge. It’s like 6$ per child and 8 per adult, so that’s 18 dollars plus the cost of their pottery. Idk, it was a good time, but if there wasn’t a sitting fee, I would have given them 5 stars.

Hi Kevin, we're so happy to hear that you and the kids had fun, thanks for coming in! We totally understand how annoying parking in Royal Oak can be, we're not crazy about it either! In regards to the studio fees, we charge those to cover the cost of firing, glazing, and sorting your finished pottery. We understand that it can add up fast, especially when you bring the whole family in, we just want to be able to finish your work in the best way possible. Again, thank you so much for dropping by to paint and we hope to see you again soon!

LEARN HOW TO COMPROMISE!!!

Solo

I paid $185.00 to take a Wheel Throwing class for 6 weeks. The reason for taking this class was to help me with my depression. The beginning of my class started out great my teacher was Ellen and I made a few good pieces, but depression took over again and on top of that I had another death in my family. I called location to see if I could restart in another class and I was advised by store manger MITCH that I would have to pay $60.00 on top of the $185.00 that I already paid to complete the class. I don't believe that is a fair. So if you pay for a class make sure you take it when scheduled because they will not compromise with you in any situation.

Wonderful place to spend time with the kids

Family

I brought my four grandkids here, ages from 5 to 16 and they all had a great time. We each picked out what we wanted to paint from the large selection. The staff was very helpful explaining which paints would be best for the younger kids. We were able to relax and enjoy our time there while making beautiful works of art. :). They also sell snacks and drinks there, which the kids always look forward to. One of my favorite places to go!

Awesome product and Staff

Family

I just had my 8 years olds birthday party there and they were very helpful and friendly. We wanted to bring food in and they were fine with it. They were pretty much fine with anything I needed. Also, they have every color under the sun for painting, and it is offered at a reasonable price.

Great Place! I painted pottery with a friend

Friends

This was my first time to an arts studio where you could paint pottery, my friend that lives in the area had done it before. You can walk in any time during their business hours, pick out one of their many pottery items to choose from (variety of price ranges $5-$60), pick out your paints, or work on a mosaic piece, and so much more. It is recommended that you apply three coats of the paint to the pottery piece, which depending on how intricate your design is and how many colors you're using, can take some time. After it's painted, you then leave your piece with one of the workers and you will be able to pick it up within a week after it's fired and glazed. Definitely a great place for a rainy day or looking to bring out your creative side. Staff was wonderful during our time there. Would highly recommend checking this place out!

Great fun

Family

We were highly skeptical and with teenage boys and young boys we thought it might not be fun. Everyone of all ages enjoyed it and thought it was great fun!

Great birthday party

Family

We hosted my daughter's 9th birthday party and the kids had a great time. Lindsay was our party host and she was awesome with the kids! Their camps are fun too.
